This 10 day program is the nuts and bolts of the Instructor Development process, with a combination of presentations, workshops and assessments, both in the classroom and in-water.
The course covers the following:
As a PADI professional its essential that you understand the PADI Standards and Procedures, this will be covered early on in the course and we will keep revisiting it so by the end of the course you will have a good idea of where to find the information you need in a timely manner.
We will take a look at the core PADI courses that you will be able to teach as Open Water Scuba Instructor, we will take a look at the standards of each course, go over how to structure each course and some marketing techniques.
We will take a look at your dive and rescue skills, polish them up if necessary then give some teaching tips to make your demonstrations look smooth.
You will give knowledge, confined water and open water teaching presentations, after we have shown you how to of course.
We will cover some risk management and sales techniques.
Descent Workshop - one of the most difficult skills as an instructor is controlling new divers on the descents, we will cover some great tips to help you control your students.
Tec/Sidemount Workshop - Give these a try, this will give you more knowledge on what other options your students have, maybe even sign up for a course yourself and become a Tec or Sidemount Instructor and put another feather in your cap.
Project Aware Workshop - We will cover all the Project Aware tools available and run through how to market and run a course. We will also complete a reef clean up and go through how to submit data online.
CV & Job Application Workshop - Once your a qualified Instructor you`ll want to work somewhere, we will show you some do`s and dont`s with some real life examples of actual applications we have received.
Pro`s Site & Administration Workshop - We will go through how to sign in a student, where to find all the relevant paperwork and how to register a student once the course has been completed.
PADI Divemaster or equivalent rating
18 years old
Medical clearance to dive, without restrictions or conditions signed by a physician within the previous 12 months
EFR Primary & Secondary Care course completion within the last 24 months
Documentation of all qualifying certifications for entry level, advanced, rescue and leadership level.
